Andrew, Kirsty and Ella spent a morning with me during their visit from Glasgow. They’ve been taking Ella on a bit of a cross-Canada tour to introduce her to all of their relatives and friends. It’s always a treat to be able to hang out with the Lawsons, and it’s a bonus to do that at a time other than the busy week of the World Pipe Band Championships! The last time we spent a good chunk of time together was on their wedding day a couple of years ago! We began the session at home where we witnessed Ella’s first ever ‘pouty lip’…nice that we were able to document it for her! Looking forward to seeing the Lawsons (hopefully) in Glasgow during July and getting a few more snuggles from Ella.

Quinn Bachand + Richard Moody – Portrait Session
Some images from the session with Quinn Bachand and Richard Moody a few weeks back on one of the few sunny days we’ve had here in Victoria during the last while. They have been playing gypsy jazz together around the city so keep your eyes and ears peeled for upcoming gigs!
Quinn Bachand + Richard Moody – Sneak Peek
I had a session with Quinn Bachand and Richard Moody on the weekend. It’s not an easy task to play instruments outside when it’s cold, but they were troopers and managed to keep their fingers moving when I kept asking them to play. They have a few upcoming jazz gigs so if you’re looking for something to do this Friday, Quinn and Richard (plus a few more musicians) will be playing at the 6 Mile Pub, and Hermann’s Jazz Club next weekend. They are two extremely talented musicians and not to be missed! More to come from this session down the road.

In the midst of catching up on editing and client meetings, I’ve been out and about scouting new locations. I’ve been so busy throughout the past year that I haven’t been able to explore our new(ish) neighbourhood…until now.
MacIntyre Family – Mabou Portrait Session
I had a double-whammy session with the MacIntyre Family in Mabou. We took family photos with the boys in between shooting promo photos for Joanne’s upcoming Gaelic album. The highlight of the session (aside from the unbelievable scenery) was being treated to a bunch of beautiful Gaelic singing by Joanne. Keep your eyes peeled for the release of her album around Celtic Colours 2013!
