It was time for some updated photos of Alexio since his last session was when he was only three weeks old. He’s definitely changed a lot since that session and he’s closing in on his first birthday in May! I brought Amanda along for the session, and we ended up spending most of the time in Alexio’s nursery hanging out with his mom Amel, and being entertained by the little man. Alexio’s just about ready to start getting some teeth so he was enjoying chewing his crib. One additional image from this session is over on the Photographer Network as my Photo of the Week!

For the past two summers, I’ve been able to make a trip to Regina to teach at Sound Advice. I had a photo session with the Brin family last summer while Jody was pregnant with Nicholas, and this summer a session with the whole Brin Diakow crew. After the session, the Brins cooked up a great supper and presented me with a Saskatchewan survival kit…my own Roughriders T-shirt, a hat from a ‘famous’ bar in Northern Saskatchewan, a mosquito net, and some AfterBite. As a blackfly magnet, that little stick of AfterBite kept me sane for the rest of the week!

We had a quick visit with baby Alexio and his mom Amel this week. At a week old, he’s full of personality, possesses super-strength, and has a full head of hair. I’ve known Amel for most of my time living in Victoria and it’s really lovely to see how much motherhood becomes her. She’s an absolute natural, and little Alexio is lucky to have such a great person as his mom.

I had a very quick session with Calum and Niall on my last day in Halifax. Their mom Chrissy, is one of my oldest pals. We played in the pipe band together and were always roommates on band trips, and together we had an acronym-based code language. Our session was the day before Halloween and by the time I arrived at their place, Calum had already been a Clone Trooper at his school party and had consumed enough sugar to turn him in to a tiny human tornado. He gave me my workout for the day as I tried to keep up with him through the piles of leaves, up and down the ladder to the tree house, and in and out of the house. Niall, on the other hand, was freshly changed out of his Darth Vader baby costume and was pretty chilled out…too tiny for candy this Halloween.
