Blue Belly Button – Victoria Kids Portrait Session

Sometimes you just love blue so much you have to colour your belly button. One from a session tonight.

Victoria and Greg – Regina SK Wedding

Victoria and Greg were married in Regina, SK on April 21st. Victoria had contacted me to photograph their wedding (upon a recommendation from Allison) while I was in Sweden and within one email, it was booked. I went over to the rehearsal dinner party the night before the wedding and Victoria greeted me at the door like I was a long-lost friend. She is such a warm and genuine person, it wasn’t a surprise to hear all of the nice things her friends had to say about her during the speeches. I spent the morning with the girls before driving across to check in on the boys and then back across town to photograph the girls getting dressed. Allison decided to surprise Victoria with a different dress than planned, and wore a pretty snazzy blue number she had worn as a bridesmaid back in the mid-90s to calm the pre-wedding nerves. There were lots of laughs throughout the day, hilarious speeches (including a custom Scottish poem by Victoria’s Glaswegian father), and some pretty dandy dance moves. Thanks to Victoria and Greg for welcoming me along on their day and congratulations again!

Finlayson Family – Victoria BC Family Portrait Session

The last session I had with the Finlayson Family lasted approximately 16 minutes on top of Mount Doug. It was December two years ago, and the weather called for a quick end to that session. With a new baby girl added to the family, the Finlaysons wanted another session. I always have my clients choose their portrait locations since it personalizes the images a bit more for them, and it also lets me explore places I haven’t been. They chose Playfair Park as their location, which for the past year and a half has been the view from my living room window, yet I had never visited the park! Saturday morning was beautiful and warm, the kids were cute as buttons, Riley the dog was keeping a watchful and protective eye on his girls, and everything ran smoothly…no gale-force winter winds to halt the session! I’m pretty sure I’ll be making more visits to the park now that I know what I’ve been missing for the past year and a half!

One photo from a double-digit birthday session with Mary on Saturday afternoon. I laughed as much as she did through this session!
