Andrew, Kirsty and Ella spent a morning with me during their visit from Glasgow. They’ve been taking Ella on a bit of a cross-Canada tour to introduce her to all of their relatives and friends. It’s always a treat to be able to hang out with the Lawsons, and it’s a bonus to do that at a time other than the busy week of the World Pipe Band Championships! The last time we spent a good chunk of time together was on their wedding day a couple of years ago! We began the session at home where we witnessed Ella’s first ever ‘pouty lip’…nice that we were able to document it for her! Looking forward to seeing the Lawsons (hopefully) in Glasgow during July and getting a few more snuggles from Ella.

Lawson Family – Victoria Portrait Session
Scouting – Victoria BC Portrait Photography
In the midst of catching up on editing and client meetings, I’ve been out and about scouting new locations. I’ve been so busy throughout the past year that I haven’t been able to explore our new(ish) neighbourhood…until now.
Jacquie + Aaron – Fredericton Wedding Sneak Peek
Jacquie and Aaron were married in Fredericton, New Brunswick on October 6, 2012. The entire Troy/Magee/Watling clan made the trek from Victoria to the Maritimes and fell in love with the landscape, the people, and the music. The wedding itself was full of tunes and late night step-dancing, and the Carters were wonderful hosts. Following the wedding, we all piled into cars headed for Cape Breton for the Celtic Colours International Festival, and between touring around and listening to incredible music, Jacquie and Aaron got gussied up one last time for a few portraits around my neck of the woods. What a wedding it was…more to come soon.

Meghann + Ainsley – Sneak Peek
An image from my session with Meghann and her family yesterday in Edmonton. Ainsley is such a sweet little girl…so laid back and loves when you hum her a good pipe tune! More to come.
Alex + Hector – Annapolis Valley Wedding
Every wedding is special, but this wedding was extra special for me. I’ve known Hector since he was a little guy first starting out on his pipes. He was a character then, fearless and funny with piles of talent…and he’s never changed. He phoned me up about a year ago to ask if I’d be available to photograph his wedding, and I couldn’t have been happier or more honoured. The first time I met Alex was on the morning of their wedding and when she opened the door, I knew she was the perfect match for Hector. Easy going with a giant warm, welcoming smile and sweet as pie. I was really proud to be part of their day and wish them all the happiness in the world!
